"computer log"

hey again, i was wondering if there is some sort of log file which records when the computer is turned on or shut down.. or something like that. any help would be great.

    START>CONTROL PANEL>ADMINISTRATIVE TOOLS>EVENT VIEWER

    Look in the system area and you'll note a pattern to the times in the event log.
