cant install nforce drivers

im trying to upgrade the nforce platform drivers to version 5.10, and it gets as far as to prepair the installation after showing the splash screen, and the install program terminates. no error message or anything. whats up with that?

    Remove the previous driver with "Driver Cleaner" and try again.

    lol, im kinda afraid to. what if i still cant install them?

    I had a problem yesterday updating drivers for geforce2 MX on Windows ME. The update did not install properly. For backup, I made a start up disk and set a system restore point before attempting the uninstall/install. When the install failed, I booted with the start up disk, got information about how to start my system in safe mode,(hold CNTRL key on boot) and in safe mode, ran a system restore to at least salvage my old drivers. I don't know why the updated drivers wouldn't install, but at least I still have the old display graphics, which I can live with if necessary...

    Test tube,

    I had that exact same problem yesterday. Uninstall the old ones and reinstall the new with a million reboots.

    i got it going again. i installed the new drivers that where recently released.
