It's not that easy without a bit of infromation. You'll have to open up the side of the PC and tell us what the model of the motherboard is. I think it will be made by ASUS.

The model number should be in white letters to the right of the RAM dimms. It may be something like TUSL-LV (Which was the model of the RX450).

If it has a revision number ...please supply us with that too.

I would think this be an ASUS board

    "Socket 478 for FC-PGA2 Pentium 4 (Willamette/Northwood) 1.4GHz to 2.4GHz+"

Only the "C" series goes to 2.2 GHz. The E, M and SE go to 2.4 GHz.

    More information is here

I hope that helps but make sure you have the latest BIOS. I make no guarantees though.

    Upon further investigation:

Asus (ASUSTEK) made this product specifically for SONY. ASUS does not maintain driver and bios updates for motherboards made for system builders like this.

I have read that it also has a "restricted" bios which has presented problems for those who want to do exactly what you want to do. Restricted means that the BIOS and updates do not have access to as many features as those made and sold directly by the manufacturer. Some features will be disabled.

I have not found any information that will support what you want to do. I have read that SONY does not encourage processor upgrades. The reason is simple. They don't want you to. They want you to buy a new PC from them rather than just a processor.

An upgrade may not be possible or it may be troublesome. Sorry. :( I'll see if I can dig up anything else.
