FireFox Problem. how can it be fixed????

edited November 2004 in Science & Tech
There is just ONE reason why I dont to use Firefox, it's because when you have a link on your desktop it will always give you this error message but it still opens the link.

If anyone knows how to fix please help

What's the error it gives you? I remember having this happen twice but I forgot how I fixed it. Maybe if I see the error it will jog my memory.

what OS are you on? i think we have to edit the file association a little bit.

in an explorer window go to folder options, then file types, find url: http .. and if you see it uncheck use dde if you see that anywhere.

What version of FireFox??? As of today or late yesterday, Firefox was at version 1.0. Yes, Firefox 1.0 has been released, and as of Firefox 1.0 preview I CANNOT get that to happen here. Firefox is not even the default browser on the XP SP2 box, and I did switch from Mozilla 1.7.3 to Firefox 1.0 preview over the weekend (and let it grab Mozilla's base settings and bookmarks before uninstalling Mozilla)-- older versions of FF did give me page load errors, this one does not....
