my bar at bottom

i have no idea why this happened. i was using the computer earlier today and at the bottom where it says start, it got real wide, not small like it is supposed to be. the bottom strip where it says start and has the clock. how do i make it go back to the size it was? it is hiding the bottom of things i bring up to look at. thank you.

    Hover your mouse over the top edge of the start bar until you get an arrow that points both up and down. Click and hold your left mouse button and pull your mouse downwards to resize the bar as you please.
