Windows Media Player

edited November 2004 in Science & Tech
Hello there!

It's been a long time since I was on the threads, but I wonder if you could help with something in regards to the title of this thread.

I just downloaded the new version of WMP, which is 10. But I hate it, and want to revert back to the old version of 9.

Do you know how I can go about this without losing any files on the WMP?

I think if you just go to add/remove progs it will revert back to your last version.

are you running Windows XP SP1, or SP2?
    Windows Media Player 10
If you have installed Windows Media Player 10, you can roll back to the version of the Player that was on your computer before installing Windows Media Player 10.

To roll back from Windows Media Player 10 to a previous version, do the following:
In Control Panel (Category View), click Add or Remove Programs.
Click Remove a program, and then do one of the following:

If you are running Windows XP Service Pack 2, select the Show updates check box (at the top of the list), click Windows Media Player 10 (in the Windows Updates section), and then click Change/Remove.

    - or -

If you are running Windows XP Service Pack 1 or earlier, click Windows Media Player 10, and then click Change/Remove.

You can also use System Restore to roll back to the previous version of the Player.

Use System Restore and look in the description box for each calendar date to find the day WMP10 was installed.

I haven't installed it yet, what's so bad about 10?

I like the new version. Nothing has changed much really, except the layout, and you can rip cd's to mp3 now.
