FeRAM Is Now Here

edited November 2004 in Science & Tech
Fujitsu Microelectronics Europe has released its first 1 Mbit FeRAM (FRAM) memory chip, the largest capacity FRAM chip available.
Faithful Geeks may remember the discussion regarding the advantages of FRAM memories and the issues faced by the industry in its long struggle to push FRAM products. Fujitsu developed this chip using its own specialized .35 micron 1T1C process technology, and says that its FRAM chip writes 10,000x faster than EEPROM while consuming an order of magnitude less power. It can also be written over more than 100,000 times the number of rewrites allowed in EEPROM. It looks like Fujitsu really came through with this product. The memory is targeted for office equipment, portable information devices, and home appliances.

Build A Better BIOS..... Actually, I could stand more reliable BIOS chips. Also, imagine flashing a BIOS 10,000x faster than you're used to
