New find for W/C enthusiasts, pumps...
I was taking a gander at some aquarium pumps when I found these pumps at Marine Depot and man do they look killer, if you look here you'll see that the head on the 1200 while not the highest is still very stout being at 200GPH at 4FT and nearly 100GPH at 5FT and the 3000 is just plain off the hook.
For the price these bad boys go for you'd be buying the next to smallest Eheim pump that is capable of a mere 178GPH and takes up way more room to top it off. I also noticed that the pump while being fully potted and submersable still allows some aircooling when used in a dry setup so that you won't have as much heat shed into the water. Another bonus in my book.
I think I've just found the replacement for my ViaAqua pump, the 1200 is small enough that I can put a magnetic shielding box around it and still not lose any realestate in my case.
