hi help no screen pc wont boot

hi i lent my next door nieghbour a better cpu than his we replaced them last night when he went to switch on pc would not boot psu working fan on cpu working light on mobo on any ideas unplugged all ide drives still no boot or screen movement need to get his going any advice plz

    Hi red777,

    some smarter guys will be along soon and they will want to know your neighbour's system specs.
    Particularly the motherboard and the new CPU that you're trying to fit in it.

    Post that info asap and you'll get fixed more quickly :)

    Most likely the processor is not recognized by the motherboard. Step one is to clear the CMOS of the motherboard and then try booting. You'll need to go into BIOS to set the processor correctly.

    That's IF the motherboard supports the processor you are installing.

    Yes...knowing what processor it is you are trying to put in and what the motherboard is would be a tad helpful.

    one thing u need to know is : every motherboard had its own maximum speed for cpu. see the user manual whether ur friends board support ur cpu or not.

    it was an msi board did the cmos unplugged everything swapped stuff with my spare graphics card extra no joy then tried his cpu in my spare asus board it worked ok went to put my cpu back in mine noticed pin bent flat in gentley trying to straighten it snapped was really cheesesed off :bawling: p4 2.6 so put his back together and blow me his fired up so his is back to normal and ive a cpu with a snaped pin is it F@@KED :bawling:
