And this is just the beginning. Thrax, this 3700 Platinum is teh wonder. I looked on the pcb and it is the Brainpower 808 pcb which is supposed to be 1337.

Sandra and A64 Tweaker. I'm gonna work on the timings and try to get them tighter later. I just need to know the fsb limit first.

    That's 3700 Rev.2 Platinum from OCZ right? :)

It is, yes. It's just called 3700 Platinum. Or to be more precise: OCZ PC 3700 EL Platinum Edition 2-3-3-8

What IC's are they using? TCCD? I know for a fact that the OCZ 3700 EL Plat Rev. 2's use TCCD, but not sure about the first gen 3700.

    Either way, nice clocks :)

There isn't any rev. 2 3700 as far as i know SimGuy. But, theese does indeed have TCCD's, the new revision that likes voltages.

With 2X512, things are a lot tougher on the mainboard and especially the memorycontroller on the cpu. But 283 Prime stable so far isn't to bad.

Hey, I'm a little behind on the overclocking scene I guess... is 300FSB like PC4800 memory?

Mack, you amaze me. I wish I could get that high.. hell I wish I had an A64 :p

    Great job

    Yup, DDR300=PC4800

    Great OC, mack!

I just wish I had Mack's memory to match my HTT, this is with the memory at 200fsb & HTT at 300

Divider sucks for the memory. However, it's really useful if you have a locked cpu on a low multi. Once you find the memorys sweetspot, just use the divider to score on the cpu. Jim, get some nice TCCD sticks i would say. Ocz have shown tremendeous support to me the last few weeks. And it takes a lot for me to say something like that about a company.
However, i have heard some MSI's don't like 1T over 260 lately...any truth in that? I'm about to switch to S939 and quite possibly a FX-55 since the dollar is so friggin low. I save close to 50% if i buy the FX in the states.

Hi Mackanz, what kind of system are you running now? Like, what kind of cpu & mobo are you using to get that clock?

I'm thinking about purchasing parts for a 64-bit o/c'd setup on water, but I have neither the know-how nor the balls. ;D

Also, would you suggest that I hold the purchase until widespread 939 adoption?

For a stable, overclocked, watercooled system, i would go for a winchester 3500+ and a MSI Platinum board. Note that i haven't used S939 yet, so my advice might not hold the real truth but that board have had the best overclocks so far. Feature wise, they are all the same more or less. If you are going to buy memory, i strongly suggest the same pair as i have now, the PC3700 EL Platinum 8,3,3,2

If you are about to buy videocard as well, go for the NF4 option and get a PCI express videocard at the same time.

    My setup as of now:
    DFI UT S754 mainboard
    Amd A64 3200+ Clawhammer (1mb cache)
    OCZ PC3700 EL Platinum (2X512mb)
Powercolor x800 Vivo, flashed to x800 XT PE
    Thermalright SL-948 with a 90mm fan at 7V (I think it's called SL-948, not sure)
    Fortron Source 530W psu

I have a lot of waterblocks and some advanced cooling as well, but i haven't used it on the A64 rig yet.

When are you going to buy the rig? What do you have now that you would like to keep in the future rig?

I'd love to get some TCCD sticks but I dont have any dosh for ram at present :( So Im stuck with BH-5 for the forseeable future.

Yep its true in my case about T1 and > 160fsb, it's a no go.

    You mean 260 right?

There is a beta bios out for that board that solves a few things.

    I have an:
    NF7-S 2.0 + 2600-M @ 2462 (234x10.5) 1.8V 42'C (air) [tictac subzero bios]
    2x256 XMS 3500 @ 2-3-2-11
    BFG 6800GT OC agp@ stock

I'll probably keep the card since it cost me a bit. Also, I'll be switching the ram during the upgrade with the ones you mentioned. I rarely ever visit [H] and other sites, but most of the threads I've seen seem to recommend making the purchase.

I had an Exos on that setup for quite a while, but I've since started lugging it around to a lot of lans. I didn't get the chance to bump up the clocks as much as I'd hoped, but I'm sure the proc could've performed well on water.

Then NF4 is out of the question since it's only supports PCIe. The choice would be a S939 MSI Platinum, just like Jimbo have and if you can afford it, a FX-55. You will probably get 3 ghz on water, maybe even more. The winchesters are a little more a hit and miss but if you are lucky, 2.8 might be doable on water with a 3500+ winchester.

    I just realized my error. I'm thinking PC3200 EL Platinum Rev2, not PC3700. :)

    WHOOPS :)

Good to know they are TCCD though (and that they clock like mad).
