Look for an option called DMZ.

Yeah, I've got a DI-604 back home. The DMZ should be one of the pages within the second, maybe first larger heading. The DMZ will just forward every port to the IP you specify unless a rule forwards it somewhere else first.

Why do you want to open every port

Well expect to be hacked within a couple days.

Don't think anyone would bother to get into your system? Trust me, they will. Tony learned that the hard way, too.

all you have to do is open 3...port 21 for FTP and whatever BT and BF use :)

i believe both BT and BF uses a range, so it will be a lot more then 3.

Doesn't matter how many entries need to be added, it will still be worth it. I can almost guarantee your DMZ'd computer would have at least one serious backdoor virus installed within 2 days of being set up. Checking the logs of my Smoothwall reveal at least 6 worm/virus propagation attempts each day.

And FYI: BT and Kazaa always managed to crash my DI-604 router (often on a daily basis). Since I replaced it with a Smoothwall I've been trouble-free on the router/firewall front.

Yeah, BitTorrent and eDonkey (mostly the latter) will crash my 604. Things a piece of crap...

My PC has been unfirewalled for a year, and I've not had a single anomalous incident.

I've used the DMZ option since I've gotten my router and I still haven't had a problem.

I don't open up alot of ports...I just use different ports for bittorrent than the normal 6881-6889 range.

For some reason after a while (firmware upgrades?) my 604 did pretty OK with the torrenting and edonkey etc. Not perfect but decent.

I'm with Thrax, if you're careful what you do, you don't need a firewall. I ran that way for a year or two. It is more responsibility though, keeping up to date and such.
