Hello-

Yes, I do have AIM. And I found your site because I googled bestfriends.scr, and this was the only site that seemed to have people talking about this virus. I was experiencing random Away Messages that included links (viruses I suspected) and I accidentily clicked on one, thinking a friend had edited my away message with a link for me to look at. Thus creating my initial problem.

Should my HJT log continue to look similar to how it does now?
Should I repost if it changes drastically?

I did change to Mozilla, downloaded a hosts and SpywareBlaster. I also scan with Ad-Aware with some regularity. I also use Symantec.

What else can I do/should I already be doing to protect myself?

THank you for all of your help. I would have been lost as to how to fix it.

Yes, your HJT log should stay the same (other than the running proceses list, and if you download new programs). To protect yourself, you should keep your HOSTS file updated (example, when you come across a new adserver, manually add it to your hosts file, or if a malicious file tries to download, add it to hte hosts file), and download Spyware Shooter (link in my signature. Keep that updated too). Also get Spybot Search and Destroy. Once you've done that, you should be all set as far as security goes.
