edited November 2004 in Science & Tech
Ive never had any probs renaming files before, but when Ive tried it tonight ive got the message "If you change a file name extension the file may become unsuitable, are you sure you want to change it" Any one got ideas on how I can solve this.

You tried to change a file extension from one to another. It's a feature that's been in windows since atleast Windows 98, if not earlier. There's nothing to really solve.

What i did was try to change the name of a jpeg from one name to another. Its always been fine before, but I get this message now.

That error only comes up if you try to change what comes after the period (.jpg) to (.gif) for example.

I know this is a little late but there is a setting in folder option to enable/disable showing extentions
