trying to open a compaq, need screwdriver

okay im trying to open a compaq presario, and it has those damned asterisk-shaped screws...i found screwdrivers like that at sears, but the smallest one they have is still too big to fit. any idea where i can get this??

    It's a torx bit. I THINK it's a t8 or a t6... I don't remember. I remember I DID have to go to an auto parts store to get it. It was a sort of special one. The one I got had a sort of key/cylinder thing in the center for whatever it was originally designed for, but it worked perfectly for the weird compaq ****. Some compaqs have screws that use slotted OR torx bits, but it sounds like you got one of the torx-only ones.

    Torx bit t6 prime, we use em here at our place,

    some stores wont have screwdriver type torx, but almost every place should have socket type torx

    or if you ever see one of those computer toolkits with like 8 lil parts in it for 10$, just et that. i use one of the torx screwdrivers that came with mine, and it works great on presarios

    Or, a small screwdriver will undo them if you get one that fits right. I always throw them away and replace them with ordinary screws. Bloody things.

    Home Depot and Menards should have them too. I bought a multi-bit torx screwdriver that has a t4 (I think) that I needed to crack open a cell phone.
