Klipsch "Ultra 2.0" Speakers - New product notice
MediaMan
Powered by loose parts.
Klipsch has let Short-Media have advanced notice of a new product called the ULTRA 2.0. Their price is currently $99.99 USD.
The ProMedia Ultra 2.0 consists of two magnetically-shielded satellite speakers. Each satellite is a highly efficient two-way design that utilizes dual 2.5-inch fiber-composite cone drivers and a 1-inch metalized polymer tweeter. An exclusive Klipsch MicroTractrix™ Horn is coupled to the tweeter for maximum clarity and efficiency. The woofers are long-throw units powered by unique neodymium motor structures. This audiophile design approach provides rich midrange clarity, extended airy highs and a satisfying bass punch, creating balance throughout the audio spectrum.
Normally we don't allow direct manufacturer advertising in the forums but my contact at Klipsch did bring us a good offer last time and did respect our forum by asking for me to post this. It's also advance notice.
This is a new product and we'll see if we can get review samples but it appears to be the promise of big sound in a small package. Good for those who like stereo sound without the clutter.
More details as they become available and the Klipsch audio rep will be monitoring this thread to answer any questions.

To my way of thinking they'd be perfect for someone that's living in a dorm or apartment (a flat for the UK crowd) as the uber low frequencies involved with a sub tend to pass through wood and sheetrock as if it wasn't there.
McBain, madmat answered your question pretty well. As soon as we relesase these, if anyone here purchasing a set, please feel free to review them and post about it here. I'm very excited to let you guys in on this offer, and thanks again with the great success of our last promotion. I will be checking back here often and seeing how things are going. Thanks again! -KA
Madmat....I know they already have a badass 2.1 system, but its not 99$.
I build "budget" systems for people who just do the typical browse, word process, and music type stuff. I'm sure these badboys sounds pretty good, mostly because I'm in love with the horn tweeter setup that klipsch uses.
Ahem...errr...the only links you should be posting are to reviews done by this site of your great product. *hint*
/me can't resist putting bugs in the ears of KA.
"Designed to match up with mobile CD and DVD players, iPods and other MP3 players, and laptops, the $100 ProMedia Ultra 2.0 system focuses on packing dynamic sound into a portable package."
"Compared with other portable speakers, the 10-inch-high satellites have superior imaging, crisp and detailed high to midrange response, and surprisingly good bass. They faithfully reproduced the airiness of Jeff Buckley's Hallelujah and the detailed sound field on DVDs like The Fifth Element."

:clears throat and begins talking in an announcer's voice:
Brendan here, again. I wanted to tell you about a new speaker system Klipsch is launching in time for the holidays. Going now for just $99.99, the ProMedia Ultra 2.0 system was designed to deliver sub/sat level performance from the simplicity of a portable two-speaker setup. It's for iPod, laptop and other consumers who want superior, full-range sound quality but do not want to give up the space or run the wire required for a subwoofer.

The ProMedia 2.0 easily connects to Apple iPods and other MP3 players, laptop and desktop computers, and portable audio/video devices such as televisions, CD and DVD players.
While most of the 2.0 products available today are space-saving devices with a focus on features, Klipsch created the ProMedia Ultra 2.0 to fill a gap in the market for a straightforward 2.0 system that is easy-to-use with a focus on high-performance sound.
Klipsch claims the ProMedia Ultra 2.0 provides the most satisfying detailed and dynamic sound reproduction and is more powerful than anything else in its price range. It is the perfect solution for high-quality sound in tight spaces and it makes a great gift.
:starts talking normally again:
