Large amounts of login attempts via SSH

I've just looked through the logs for my server noticing huge amounts of random logon attempts or just lots and lots of attempts constantly for large amounts of time. Do you know any way of either stopping people from being able to connect so often or some way of reporting these people? Most of them seem to be dial up or general DHCP assigned addresses such as: 62.193.228.6 (wpc1184.amenworld.com) and such.

I'm just wondering how all the rest of you deal with these things, I mean I doubt they are going to ever get in, but the fact that the machine is having to deal with lots of requests constantly and the fact they can get away with trying to root the machine bothers me.

Cheers,
Ex

Send off a mail to abuse@amenworld.com with logs. Your ISP may also have an applicable address.

Yeah, you can always send an email to abuse@ the isp that the block belongs to. Believe me, they'll investigate it. It costs them as much as it costs you.
