Font file eating huge CPU time...HELP!

edited November 2004 in Science & Tech
ALL,

My system has been running Exploreer unbelievably slow. The processes tree shows that something called "imgad.exe" which Search puts in the Fonts folder, is taking up to 99% of the CPU capacity every 3 seconds or so. I've installed F@H and that doesn't seem to be helping. I also can't delte the file, no matter how much I try ato modify the permissions for it. I always get an "Access Denied" error, and no matter how many times I try to end the process or its associated tree, imgad.exe just pops right back up and goes back to killing my computer's until-now lightning quick response time. I'm running Windows XP Pro on an Athlon 64 3200+ (2.0 GHz) system with just over 1 GB of RAM.

Any help is appreciated.
