Your thoughts on this set-up.....
Hi,
This seems to be a good place to get advice on all things 64 bit, so i was wondering if you guys could give me your thoughts on a system i'm planning to build.
So far, after plenty of research, i've come up with this:
MSI K8T Neo-FIS2R SKT 754 K8T800
AMD Athlon 64bit 3400+ 754pin Retail Boxed with 3 Year Warranty CPU
Maxtor Diamondmax Plus 9 120Gb 7200rpm 8mb Cache ATA133 - OEM
Crucial CT6464Z40B 512mb DDR 400MHz PC3200 CL=3 Memory Module
Xfx Gf 6600gt Agp 128mb, Tv Dual Dvi Agp (when it comes into stock in a few days)
I can get all this for £495.55 from ebuyer.co.uk. This seems to be the best deal, and i don't really want to spend much more than £500.
Do you think that instead of the athlon 64 3400, £50 would be better spent on an extra stick of ram and the slower athlon 64 3000?? Bearing in mind i can upgrade the ram anytime in the future.
Also, i'm thinking of buying this case:
http://www.savastore.com/productinfo/product.aspx?catalog_name=Savastore&product_id=10255243&pid=207&rstrat=3070
Is 300w enough for a system like this? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers,
Andy
