If a 74gig Raptor HD is setup as C: with the OS and programs on it, how do you put the data on other drives.

I have read a bit about it, but it does not say how to do it. Also is this the best method to get a bit of extra speed out of the puter or should the data go on the Raptor??

In case extra info is needed.

Abit AA8 3RDEYE mobo
Intel 3.4 proc
1024M DDRII 533mhz ram
74gig Raptor HD
2 x 200gig sata HD's
500w Super Flower PSU

All help will be greatly appreciated.

Jon

If you're talking about software apps and games, you usually get a chance to choose the destination drive when installing. Obviously just to store stuff, just create folders on the other two drives and plonk your mp3's and stuff in them.

As for speed, those apps on the Raptor drive should (theoretically) run faster than those on the other two drives.

I use Xteq's X-Setup Pro for folder management.

Under [basic] >> System >> FileSystem >> Folders >> Data >> General Folders #2, I set up the paths to my pictures, videos, and music.

Also, under the same sub-label, I've customized the default paths for Documents&Settings (in case I need a fresh install,) Appdata, and Desktop Items.

For Program Files, I use registry crawler (shareware,) and it's ability to search for instances of "Program Files." I then replace any references to the drive. I make sure that I copy over all of the existing contents to it's new location before I attempt to make registry changes.
