i have had my monitor a few months now and it hasnt given me any real problems. some initial display problems were linked with a dodgy driver and cleared up quite quickly.

i have a new problem

my monitor has this yellow tint that comes and goes. i first noticed it about a week ago but i was tired at the time and put it down to lack of sleep

it is near enough permanant now

i have tried disconnecting the monitor, un-installing and re-installing the graphics card driver and cleaning the contacts on the monitor cable but to no avail.

is there anything else i can try or should i return it to the shop i got it from

not sure if this helps but when i disconnect the cable and that 'video input cannot be found' message comes up the yellow tint isnt visible. does this mean its a problem with my computer or could it still be the monitor

im tearing my hair out please help before i go bald

thanks in advance ;)

If one of your guns is going then that will produce the yellow tint but before we maket that conclusion...is there a factory reset button on the control panel for the monitor?

Reset the monitor back to defaults.

Also...what brand and model number please.

If that doesn't work then boot into DOS mode by hitting F8 on bootup. See if the yellow tint is there. If it is...then the monitor has got to go for warranty work.

    samsung syncmaster 152 v

didnt locate a reset button but i tried unplugging it from the mains and leaving it for a minute. have uninstalled the drivers for the graphics card and it seems to be working ok

im not sure if the tint is still there or if its just the way im looking at the screen

if it is still there (which i doubt) then it is very faint

im now gonna download the latest driver for my graphics card(which if it helps is an ati radeon 7000) then try re-installing that see if it helps because the windows driver has made the monitor performance really drag!

has anyone else had problems with my model monitor and/or graphics card?

You could degauss the monitor and see if that works. Look for a button (or OSD option) that has a horse shoe looking magnet with a cross through it. I doubt that's the problem, because monitors do that automatically when they get turned on (right?), and colour ( :grumble: ) problems will show up over time. (That is, unless you went and pulled a magnet up to your monitor ;) )

it has now fixed the yellow screen problem and now my screen will go black

sometimes it stays black and i have to reboot and sometimes it comes back and says VPU recovery etc etc etc etc

this is the exact problem i had before which i thought i fixed with recent drivers but obviously not
