I've only got 34% of Free Space left on C: which is only 25.41GB of 72.84GB. I had just over 40+GB not long ago. My brother has been downloading games but surely thats not the reason, is it? He deleted or uninstalled them after burning them on CD.
I ran Disk Defragmenter and here are the results:

There are some programs out there that can give a picture of where all the space on your HDD is being used but I cant remember any names off the top of my head.

Or you can go thru your folders and see how much is in each folder and find out where the space has been going.

    Thanks MM.

I tried your suggestion and I went through most of the folders in 'Program Files' and there are a few things that take up a bit of space.

If I deleted those folders which take up the space of C: and then emptied the recylce bin would that get the space back or not?

I would be great if you could remember the programs that gives a pic of HDD, if not no worries.

    Thanks again

Try Disk Analyzer - it's free.

Also, look in C:\Documents and Settings\your username\Local Settings\Temp and delete everything you can. Windows probably won't let you delete all of the files you find there.

If you delete the folders then Empty the Trash Bin you will get the space back. A quicker way of deleting things is to Shift+Delete. It deletes things right away and doesnt go into the Trash Bin.

Thanks guys! mm, prof & prime :)

Prime, Treesize pro is 1 heck of a program. It shows where the locations of wasted space are.

One question: What does the Blue Highlight indicate? Also, the orange bar indicates wasted space so would it be safe to delete them?

    Thanks again everyone
