Cheese icons: MouseMX and Mouse_MX trojan?
A few days ago all sorts of programs didn't work anymore on my PC(couldn't find all sorts of DLL files) and in the program list showed CHEESE ICONS in stead of the normal icons!
Through running Hijackthis I managed to get rid of the cheese icons but I it doesn't seem to be able to fix the O4 entry called [MCUpdateExe] c:\Mouse_MX\mcupdate.exe
Below you can find the log file where in the first section you can see that a lot of programs are running from both the C and D drive under directories \MouseMX and \Mouse_MX. These four directories are hidden and contain exefiles of programs which either don't work anymore or have become extremely slow.
I also keep on getting a pop-screen every few minutes which tells me that I need to re-install McAfee security centre, although through the control panel add/remove tool , I can't even uninstall it anymore.
Overall the PC now takes like minutes to start-up and remains extremely slow.
Anybody please provide help?

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Rundll] C:\WINDOWS\System\Rundll~.exe /out
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Rundll32] C:\WINDOWS\System\Rundll32~.exe /out
Fix those entries then find and delete the following:
C:\PROGRAM FILES\NEWDOTNET\
C:\WINDOWS\System\Rundll~.exe
C:\WINDOWS\System\Rundll32~.exe
(note the ~ on the last two files)
Then reboot and post a new log. Safe mode may be required to do that.
Followed your advice and also run LSPFix.
Conclusion: got rid of the New.net stuff but I didn't get rid of the
C:\WINDOWS\System\Rundll~.exe
C:\WINDOWS\System\Rundll32~.exe
Did never the less as proposed: fixed it in hijackthis + reboot in safe mode + delete files.
After reboot in normal they anyhow just were beck there again.
See also new logfile below.
Still very worried about the cheese icons and the MX_mouse and MXMouse subdirectories which I guess will need to restore in the right place.
Pls any further good advice???

Try that site for info and removal.
Removal seems indeed to exsist but up until now I haven't found any help to actually restore the damage.
Do you happan to know of any tool that puts the original dll files in the right place from the corrupted MouseMX and Mouse_MX?
