My company has a an old PowerMac G4 that we are looking to get rid of. It's about 4 years old I think, and is in great shape.

It is one of the first models of these:

We also have some older, slower Macs as well.

I don't have the model numbers or specs right now, but can get them if you are interested. I'll have to discuss asking prices with my employer.

Let me know if you want me to proceed.

Will do, I'll find out this week and let you know. Are you interested in the newest unit, or the odler ones (which I think are 9600's.....)

Hey Dexter, you wouldn't happen to have any old Rev2 Blue & White G3s as well? I really only need the logic board, firewire module, and front panel power switch/LED module. I've got everything else (ZIF module, case, heatsink, PSU, graphics, scsi, OS, etc.)

    Dexter...

depends on price. as i said they have to have 64 mb of ram and 1 gig hdd, or its not worth the shipping. the thing is i can't afford to drop a lot of cash on this right now, but since they are all over 4 years old, hopefully it won't be too bad... i had an imac like 6 or 7 years ago with a 450 mhz processor so id imagine they will make a pretty reasonable offer.

btw are you talking about the unit only or a monitor as well? i probably don't want a monitor, i have a pc one but ill have to get an adaptor to hook it up to the mac... but you never know, if there is a monitor with it id be curious to see how much for it.

    thanks!!

    *edit

and about that exorcism comment mat...god don't get me started, i used to be a mac-user for years. donnnn't get me started lol

Mizugori - if it's a USB mac (that is to say, a blue/white G3 or newer) it can and will support a PC mouse and keyboard if they are USB. In fact, having a two button mouse makes OS 9 and OS:X that much better.

okay in that case, if it meets those criteria i don't need the keyboard and mouse. thanks!

We actually used some older Mac monitors with that (it replaced a 9600 system) so we never had one of the G4 monitors. But it will use a PC monitor, and we had a USB Logitech 2 button scroll mouse on it, so it is definitely compatible with nay PC mouse / keyboard, so long as you can get the drivers. It does have a mouse though.

I'll check tomorrow what all it has again (I know it will meet your min specs) and try to get you a picture of it. We almost sold it to a friend of an employee a few months ago, but the guy could not come up with the cash (starving student...)

Macs tend to hold a high resale value, and my employer is very much a Mac guy, so he will know its' fair value.

drasnor: no, we onlyu have this unit, one or two 9600's, and an even older system (a Performa, I think....

    Okay, here's the scoop...

As I thought, it is a G4 - 450. The specs on that are available here:

    http://www.theapplemuseum.com/index.php?id=tam&page=personal&subpage=pmg4_agp&skin=specs

    http://www.everymac.com/systems/apple/powermac_g4/stats/powermac_g4_450.html

    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=58418

    Various info and reviews here:

    http://www.lowendmac.com/ppc/g4saw.shtml

This model features the 450 Processor, 256 MB RAM, a 27 GB hard drive, built in Zip drive, and built in DVD-RAM drive. The DVD RAM drive means you can use DVD RAM discs for re-writable DVD storage, just like a really big Zip Drive. It has the AGP graphics card which includes both VGA and Mac-proprietary outputs (similar to DVI.) It has 2 USB ports and 2 Firewire ports in the back. It is not currently hooked up, but I believe it is running a version of OS 9. The system ran very well from 1999 when we bought it new, until we replaced that station (it was a graphics station) and an older Mac-based video editing system with a single PC station. It has the keyboard but not the mouse.

I'll PM you in regard to price and other details.
