radeon 7000 problem, video crashes my computer

everytime i start playing any kind of video it freezes then when i end task the mouse cannot click on anything till finally the mouse ceases to move and i am forced to push the reset button

i recently installed the newest drivers for my graphics card which cured another display problem i was having so i would preferably not like to revert to my last driver

anyone got any suggestions?
