Well my power supply died like 2 weeks ago. The fan decided to stop working which caused the power supply to overheat. So I had to go with a 300watt I had laying around the house for a backup till I got a new one. Well I orderd a Thermaltake W0013 Silent Purepower 480 watt for $55 on newegg.com (Price is now like $52) and I must say I'm very happy with this power supply. I never had a Thermaltake as a PSU and I wasnt sure if it would be any good, but I figured they are a good company and $55 for a 480 watt is alot better then $89 for a 400watt at Best Buy. So I got it and when I opened the package and picked up the box that the PSU was in I was like 'damn this thing is heavy' it had to weight at least 5pounds or move, I liked this because it felt like a very solid powersupply. The PSU comes with 2 fan controllers which control the rear fan. You can put one in an empty drive bay or in an empty expansion slot in the back. I opted to put it in the expansion bay, and let me tell ya when you haev that fan turned up to max speed, it's loud. Sounds like a hairdryer. The cords are another thing that is nice about this PSU. They have pleny of them and they are long. So if you have a server tower they would be perfect for it. I had a mid-size case so I found they are alittle longer then I needed but it's always nice to have alittle slack. But all in all I was happy with this power supply and haven't had any problems with it since. So I just wanted to post a little mini review on this :)

Exactly how loud is it when the fans are on low or medium?

Im thinking of getting the thermaltake 480 silent purepower for my new rig, and i really want something quiet.

Well on my ThermalTake Silent Purepower Butterfly edition (Basically the same with few extra goodies) on low they are silent. On full blast they are very loud with an annoying whine.
