Will new RAM work with new mobo?

I'm in the process of building a new machine for someone with a Sempron processor and the MSI KM4M-L mobo (full spec).

I bought some ram, 256Mb DDR 400 memory, but these days this doesn't mean much to me. The mobo specifies DDR 333, and PC 1600 - 2700.

Can I use this RAM?? Will it slow down or anything like PC 133 used to go to PC 100? And most importantly, is it advisable to try the RAM wit hthe mobo or get some proper speed RAM?

Edit// the manual appears to say that it will not take PC 3200, this 400mhz stuff. So, I just want to ask, will the memory slow down or anything or is it just not compatible?

    The ram is rated DDR400, 200fsb, PC3200
It should run fine at the 166fsb (DDR333, PC2700) of the mobo.
