I got a p2 300 mhz IBM system.

When i push the button to start it the hd spins up, the front led's turn on, the cpu fan starts spinning, and the psu fan turns on. The cd drives can be opened and closed as well. I am getting no post at all though. No beeps no display on the monitor.

The more i think about it the more i think it's a dead mobo. Any ideas?

Onboard video or a seperate card? In either case, if you have an extra video card give it a go. Chances are good it's a dead mobo though.

Update: Computer posts, but during the post i am not able to access the bios by pressing f1. Eventually the screens comes to "insert system disk and press enter", but i can't press enter because the keyboard doesn't work. I tried 2 different keyboards. The num lock key turns on, but i am not able to toggle the locks. Also the mouse's optical light turns on.

Sounds like the mobo is dying man. Time to put it out to pasture :sad2:
