Right Click of mouse not working

While using my laptop i suddenly discovered that the right click on the mouse is not working, It is working on Start>Programs but not on the taskbar or on the wallpaper.
It would be nice if you reply to this or post the message in the group...i can't figure out how to do this..i have tried all the options on the Mouse in the Control Panel.
Can somebody please provide a resolution?

    optical? need driver?

    open and check for dirt etc.

    Its a laptop with touchpad mouse. Which driver do i need to check?
