SM18's down!

edited December 2004 in Folding@Home
Well, the PSU on SM18 finally bit the dust. It's been making all sorts of noise as of late, but because it was closer to Brian's desk than it is mine, I figured it could make all the noise it wants. Today (after Brian tapped (smacked) it with a screwdriver) it started making enough noise (and spontaniously rebooting the compy) that I (Brian) decided it had enough, and shut it down.

So, now SM18 needs a new PSU. Anyone have one to donate?

    I have two PSU at home... but what kind does it take..
    the two are ATX but are not P4 able.
    also only run 300 and 350 watt

    let me know.

    I'm pretty sure the 300Wer will be fine. In fact, it might only have a 230W in there now.

    K7S5As don't need the little P4 12V connector, so those'll do just fine. Talk to Seth though before you send it anywhere.

    As long as you can guarantee that they work you guys can trade shipping info and send the PSU on its way.

    I know the exact moment this happen, I was on AIM with brian and he says

    "ruh roh; for some reason SM18 just reboot itself"
    I say 'well why dont you troubleshoot it then'
    he says: "it's not mine, TheSMJ can troubleshoot it"

    (I honestly think he sabotaged it, somebody better declare jihad on brian)

    Lord_Night's came in, and SM-18 is up and running on it's own power again. Thanks man!

    I had SM18 running on one of Brian's PSUs while I waited for Lord_Night's PSU to get here, so better thank him, too. ;)
