farcry cd-rom?

My friend just got farcry and for some reason his cdrom will not read it, but it read at least 20 other cdrom games that we tried on it. On his other computer he has a dvdrom which reads it, and so does my dvdrom. On the farcry disc it clearly says cdrom. My question is does farcry only work on dvdroms even though the cd says cdrom on it?

    Farcry is about 5 CDROMs. If he only has one disk, then it's prolly a mislabeled DVDROM.

    Is this legit or a pirate copy? I don't recall FarCry ever coming on a DVD...... :-/

    Actually, it's available on DVD in Europe.

    Well actually the farcry disc was given to him from another friend who i think may have gotten it with the purchase of the nvidia 6800 video card. I tested the farcry disc in my dvd rom and it ran perfectly, so now i have it installed in my computer because my friends didnt want it/ couldnt get it to work. thanks for the help. (i dont know why its only one disc, but it works for me!)

    i got it on DVD with a socket 939 board i ordered for my dad like 6 months ago
