"Easy Internet Signup"

Inside the "Add/Remove Programs" section of my Control Panel, I have an entry called "Easy Internet Signup", which takes up around 50MB of hard disk space. before I go removing it, I want to make sure that it won't disable my Internet connection or something. There is a similar folder inside C:\Program Files\ which mostly has to do with AOL and MSN (I have Comcast). Is this safe to remove?

Make a backup of the directory in a .zip file, then delete the directory. If everything still functions appropriately, restore the .zip file's contents and run the actual uninstaller to do a complete uninstall.

I did that. The folder is still there though with about 15 files inside it. I sent the folder to the Recycle Bin and everything still worked. Are they okay to delete?

Also is there any way to uninstall Windows Messenger? There's nothing in Add/Remove programs

I'd say it's okay to delete unless you have an ISP that uses some software for you to connect to the internet. It's not their originally so I doubt you'll need it after. As for messenger, you can use XP-Antispy to remove Windows Messenger.
