In Windows XP, if I click on Start << Control Panel << Appearance and Themes << Change the computer's theme << Windows Classic, what operating system does it look like? 98? 2000? Something else? Is it an exact copy or an approximation? Does it save any system resources by running it in Classic mode?

It just makes it look like Windows 2000. Just go into Services and turn off Themes, that saves RAM and looks like "Classic Mode" looks like, because themes are basically just a cover.

I don't see any options for "turn off themes". How do you get to it? What's the path?

Services... you know. Right click "My Computer". Click "Manage", expand the "Services and Application" on the left, click "Services" and double click "Themes".

Themes off looks more like 98, but Classic Mode looks more like 2000
