Help with playing DVDs on my TVPC

edited December 2004 in Hardware
Currently I have a computer connected to my TV using a coaxial TV output on my video card which connects to my TV. I'd like to play DVDs using this computer, but the DVD software detects the TV output as being enabled, and refuses to play a DVD until it's shut off.

Does anyone know of a way around this? I'd love it if my TV had a VGA input, but I dont think it's not going to happen any time soon...

Maybe give videolan a shot. Many programs argue with displaying DVD media on TV for whatever reason, but videolan has been very compatible. Haven't tried it myself since I don't watch DVDs a lot - I know it plays DVDs though, and I wouldn't expect it to have a problem duplicating to TV. Dual monitor support could use some work last time I checked.
