ATI has released a final version of their Catalyst 4.12 drivers for the Radeon line of graphics cards. A beta version of these drivers has already been widely distributed because of the known improvements they offer for Half-Life 2, but now the final version is here, all you Half-Life 2 nuts can go official.

- Thanks to 'TheGr81' for the heads up
As with most CATALYST™ releases performance has increased in various situations. The following performance gains are noticed:

-Driver efficiency has improved considerably for both Direct3D and OpenGL.
-Numerous D3D games show 2-3% gains at low resolution. The small batch size tests in 3DMark05 show improvements as large as 15% on some products.
-In OpenGL, several game titles show improvements in the lower settings. Wolfenstein - Enemy Territory, for instance, shows gains as large as 15% in low resolution (driver-bound) cases. Doom III performance improves 5-10% at low settings. Call of Duty improves 5-6%.
-Half-Life 2 performance also improves as much as 20% over Catalyst 4.11 in certain sections of the game.
Gordon's just got a performance increase!

Anyone know if they fixed the problem with punkbuster, when they were beta it was reported that they did, but the final release does not say anything about it.

They're supposed to of have, but I can't seem to get confirmation on that. Best thing to do for now is to just try it. :)

    Cheers
