Linksys Speedbooster Wireless card

edited December 2004 in Science & Tech
I plan on getting a Linksys 802.11g PCI Wireless card. I have an Linksys 802.11g Router. Would I experience any benefit if I get the Linksys 802.11g Speedbooster Wireless PCI card, even though I have a non-speedbooster router?

Nope. From what I understand (which I learned from Thrax, so he's the one to ask), the speedbooster is for the "Super-G" 108 mbps wireless routers. And apparently they don't work all that well (above 54 mbps) to begin with. So I would think you wouldn't, especially since that router can't even go to 108. Might want a second (or third) opinion, though.

ive got a router with speed booster and cards with speed booster, and from what i can tell it dosnt run at 108, just 54 but i mainly use it for internet and small file sharing like about 5 gigs :p
