99% of the people here fold and that in most times means 24/7 operation. My pc is on 24/7 for years now never had anything bad happen as long as i kept it on a batt backup and surge protector

All 4-5 of mine are all 24/7 as well as the other 3 computers in the apartment.

Turn off your monitor(s) though. They supposedly account for about 30% of the power usage. 6 computers running 24/7 here, no downtime on any of them in forever. The oldest one approaching 2 years. Have had other computers in the past last up to 4 years and only taken down due to obsolescence.

Got 13 desktop computers and 2 notebooks. All run 24/7 folding for team #93 short-media. No problems what so ever. Only running 1 screen for the desktops makes it easier for us.

Actually if you have stable power (I use voltage regulators) its better for a lot of electrical equipement to just stay on. Its when they are turned on or off that most bad things happen, especiallly computers that have drives spinning up and down.
