Error Moving Outlook to different computer

Well I got my laptop the other day so I want to have my email on that so I can check my email when I am back at home or some other place. I know where the Outlook folder is on each computer and I try to copy the files from one computer to the other. I have always done this before when I reformat. I just paste the new files onto the new installation of XP.

But for some reason it wont work this time around. I get this error when I try pasting Folders.dbx and Pop3uidl.dbx. Sometimes it works and sometimes I get the error shown in the attachment. Both files copied over but when I open OE I dont have any of my folders. If I make a folder with the same name, none of the emails are there.

Has anyone else ever gotten this error?

Yeah, this guy had the same problem... :p (Thanks, Google.)

Have you tried doing it the Export/Import way? Maybe try it in Safe Mode or logged on as Administrator?

I've had trouble on any number of computers trying to restore backups in Outlook (mostly Outlook 2000). The only thing I can figure is that all the new security rigamarole is mucking up the works.

    Yeah go google.:rolleyes2

I was able to export OE to Microsoft outlook on the same computer. Not sure how to do it from one computer to the other, esp since they cant see each other on the network for some reason.

I've done that dozen of times and I've never had that error. The only thing different I did was not backup the pop3 thingy. I only moved the inbox folder. How about chaning the folder location in OE? You could always take this moment to try Thunderbird :p It's really good. I got my dad to use it and he's really anal about change.

Well I tried again today and everything copied over. The foldes and messages are all there. Except this time I cant log into my DeVry Account. I have the correct password, I changed in on my desktop and it still works. Except when I use it on my laptop it doesnt. I tried exporting the account and then importing it to my Laptop but that didnt work either. This is the error I get when I try to Send/Recieve.

I got message from my RR account tho. This is the error I get.
