NO_MORE_IRP_STACK_LOCATIONS = death?

Ok so here's the thing. My computer hasn't been shutting down correctly for a long time now, and I just managed to get it to shut down correctly today (i.e. actually using the shut down command, not just powering off) so it's entirely possible that what I did today is not what is causing this problem. The problem is that when I boot my computer, it gets past the bootscreen, but then displays the blue screen with the error "NO_MORE_IRP_STACK_LOCATIONS" and stays there until I turn it off. I just managed to get the computer into safe mode and checked stuff online but of course Microsoft is no help whatsoever. I had noticed before that when I left the machine running on the blue screen, I got a series of BIOS beeps (4 in a row, very quickly, repeating about 14 times) but now in this safe mode they're not occurring. Today, all I did was rewire my computer, making the power cords and others neater. Yes I believe I put everything back correctly and no nothing seems out of place. I just moved cords around and bunched them together. But, if I should be missing anything, all your help does just that... helps. I saw some suspicious stuff when I booted into safe mode, a file named xmasbus.sys which I had never seen before and seemed odd, but upon further review, it's not a virus or anything. Can anybody help? Thanks guys.

    so the microsoft help with the IPRStackSize didnt work. I don't think it's memory b/c the computer boots up. what could the beeps be? could that be a clue as to the source of the problem?

    oh, the computer booting up says nothing at all about the memory. I highly recommend checking it before you continue diagnostics.

    Bad ram will still boot and post okay.

    Next up are voltages and temps. What are your voltages looking like?

    Actually, some results on google say it's driver related. I would've repaired installed a long time ago :D

    I've tried uninstalling all the recent drivers I've put on here, but no dice. I just tried to repair install Windows and truth be told, it put me at C:/Windows and I had no idea what to do with it from there. So I exited out. Good waste of an hour. Any help?

    Edit:

    Ok, it's over. I just did a system restore to a couple days before I left from school. Apparently something I installed since then didn't like me. I shall tread carefully before reinstalling...

    Thanks for everybody's help, guys. Once again, timely and helpful assistance from the Short Media crew!

    you went into the repair console, not repair install. to get to repair install, you say continue from the main screen just like you wouuld be installing windows, and when it gets to the available partitions you select the current windows install you'd like to fix and press whatever button it says for repair install (i think f8). what it does is delete and rewrite all necessary windows files. the main problem with doing it is that all windows patches have to be reinstalled, but you DO keep your registry (so everything still works the way it used to, once you get all the windows patches reinstalled)
