Please help!

Hi SVT team -- thanks for all your hard work trying to help those of us infected with the backdoor-bdd virus! I'm stuck and hoping you can offer advice.

I have the backdoor-bdd virus with all the symptoms others have reported. I've run updated versions of both Adaware and Spybot. I've followed your removal guide, but am stuck on Step 4. I do not see any of the suspect services when running "services.msc" I then ran "get active sercies.vbs," but still could not identify the bogus service(s). I then generated a "startuplist log" using HighJackThis, but still no luck.

As suggested in the instructions, I'm attaching the text file from "getactiveservices" as well as my HiJackThis scan.

Could you please review and help me identify the culprit?

    I'm not having much luck deleting the files. Many say "access denied" or "can't delete because in use." Also, for some files I found the .dll but not the .exe file. Should I delete the .dll?

    Yes, delete the .dll if it is there. If you can't delete the files, pull the plug and when you plug it back in, press F8 at the BIOS screen to boot into Safe Mode. When you delete the files in Safe Mode, pull the plug again and boot into normal mode.

    I haven't had the VS warning of the backdoor virus all day, but it popped up a few times yesterday. On the advice of this site, I switched to Mozilla and am dumping Explorer. Any other precautions I should take?

    Go to the Windows Update site and install all critical security updates that are available. Other than that you should be all set.
