Popular BitTorrent File-Sharing Site Pulled

edited December 2004 in Science & Tech
One of the Internet's most popular file-sharing websites has suddenly closed up shop, likely a high profile victim of the lawsuits launched last week against those operating servers using the BitTorrent network.
In a message posted on SuprNova.org Sunday, the site operators said they were "closing down for good in the way that we all know it."

There's only two, maybe three (Isohunt never works right...), good torrent sites active yet... and they'll probably be gone pretty soon.

    There aren't :p

Torrentspy is pretty damn close, though. Used to have a great IRC index, too, but it sorta deteriorated. Demonoid is alright. Isohunt just blows... there's never anything working.

My 3 favorite torrent forums (they were quite good) have also closed or stopped doing torrents. What an incredible shift that's going on here.

I did stumble upon some kind of suprnova mirror still operating, although I oughtn't post it here. Not sure if it'll get anything new now.

You get your torrent' from there, not the actual downloads, right??? Anyway, I stopped that stuff a while ago but, when I discovered suprnova, I was litterally like a kid in a candy store. Thank You Suprnova for all that you were, and all the hours of fun you provided me. R.I.P.

at least the MPAA isn't suing random people. Their approach is way smarter than that of the RIAA.

i feel like they ripped out all my insides and somehow left me alive. Without suprnova i kinda feel empty. Yeah sure, there are other sites beside suprnova but i have only d/l two torrents from them. They just dont have the variety or reliability of suprnova (RIP). I think ill join Gargoyle and cry now.
