Omega fix for ATI 9500 to 9700 instructions?

I built a rig for my son away at college and he gat a vicious worm that made a mess of things and I now need to re-install all. The problem is he lost the instruction sheet I gave him for the bios hack of the 9500 to 9700 hack enabling the other 4 pipelines. I know that it's been a while, but does anybody recall the correct order and complete instructions for that hack? And if possible, the latest dated bios for that particular hack with the L shaped memory configuration? I would really appreciate it guys!

Merry Christmas!

Can't he just softmod the 9500 with a Rivatuner patchscript? Or does that require a bios flash too?

I seem to recall a BIOS flash wasn't necessary, just a driver change or some such. I run a 9500 bought in those days, but it artifacted when modded :(

However, the BIOS flash was probably most of the work in the version you followed and a reinstall won't change that (I'm guessing) from 9700 back to 9500.

Use Rivatuner, no bios flash necessary, instructions to be found on guru3d.com.

*edit* If remember rightly the easiest way to do it is to uninstall the old drivers & ati control panel & then just install Omega Drivers & during the installation it asks if you want to soft mod the card. I thinks thats right but don't shoot me if it isn't.

I believe it was just a driver change and some altered settings from within Ati control panel but since it was almost two years ago I have forgotten how I did it.

Thanks for the quick info guys. I'll try that guru site first.

    Have a good holiday!
