I'm in Texas and don't have my PC with me, but I need to check my email. Where in Thunderbird do I set the option to keep messages on the server instead of deleting them aftr retrieval? I don't want to not have them at home, I know I can forward thm, but I'd rather not.

Um, AFAIK, IMAP does not have that enabled in TB, and not in most other browsers either. SO, can you get to your email on the web, forward it to a POP capable account, then pickup POP mail and leave it there if you want (on a POP server)?? This is one reason I like POP3 and\or SPOP over IMAP.

Most IMAP implementations do not have a hold after delivered config option. Much less one that can let the client ask the IMAP server to delete later after delivery if wanted, or trigger a timeout after pickup if wanted. BUT, some IMAP accounts have a web intrface capability available to account holders.... Thus that idea as above....
