HELP!!! cant start xp on my vaio???

Hi,

I'm in need of some desperate help!

Upon switching on notebook (pcg-1c1n / pcg-u3) it starts to boot and then comes up with
"we apologise for the inconvenience , but windows did not start successfully blah blah"
Then it goes on to say I can start it in safe mode, safe mode with networking, safe mode with command prompt, last known configuration and start windows normally BUT no matter which I try nothing works!

When started normally it comes up with the XP Home Edition start up screen then it flicks to a blue screen (with some text written on it but not on there long enough to read) for a split second then restarts the notebook all over again.

This happens over and over again!

I have access to a PC with XP Home Edition on it and a network cable but when I tried starting with network boot I keep getting
"limited or no connection available" message appear on the PC.

I would be EXTREMELY GRATEFUL if anybody could help me out or give me any ideas on what to do as i'm a bit of a novice/thicko when it comes to the technical side of things!!!!

    Can NOBODY gives me any ideas on what to do???
    Gives me an error msg 0280: previous boot incomplete - default config used then gives F1 to resume or F2 to enter setup
    IM AT A TOTAL LOSS

    FWIW, you could try a repair installation.

    Pardon me, but what time of the bloody year is it right now? :rolleyes: There are a lot of people that normally are on here that are on vacation or at work (like me) that have very limited time to read the forums right now.

    Now to your problem; like BH said, you could try a repair install of XP and see if that gets you back going. Have you loaded any new software lately that might have fubarred your machine? If so, then uninstall it and see if your machine runs normally, if that's possible. You could also have your ram going bad, have you tried running memtest 86 on it yet?
