Slave Hard Drive

I assume that this has already been answered so I'll apologize ahead of time, but anyway heres my question: If I have a hard drive I would like to make my main and it has Windows Xp home edition on it, would I also have to have the same (or any) operating system on the slave drive?

    No. Just on the main drive.
