Hi all,

I just registered after visiting this site for a couple weeks. I have been very impressed with the level of friendliness in here. You all seem like a nice group.

Anyway, I am being tormented by xlime. I have ran Adware and Spybot, Spyware shredder, Spy blaster, Spy shooter, Trojan remover, every cotton pickin thing under the sun and xlime is STILL tormenting me. Please help, I am a step away from the looney bin! (I have had several other puter issues, and have recently done everything I can afford, which is not much, to soup up computer security)

I'll post my HJT log below, but can someone tell me if there is a way to keep things like this from getting on your puter to begin with? I have XP sp2, I keep the windows security center running (including the firewall), I also run Symantec Virus Protection (dont like that firewall so I dont use it), of spyware stuff I have, Adaware 6, trojan remover (this was a lifesaver recently) Hijack this, spybot, spyware blaster and spyware shooter. The are mostly removal tools, but is there a preventative tools out there?

When I tried to delete BRgrab.dll I got an error: access is denied humph! this is my puter, how can I be denied access! humph.

gonna go check on that spybot download now........

Hi! It's OK BRgrab.dll seems to be gone. Normally when 'access is denied' you have to go into Safe Mode but it's ok. Just to confirm it's SpywareBlaster 3.2.

---

Open Task Manager (Press CTRL > ALT > Delete), go to the process tab, look for oqdnor.exe and click 'end process'

Open HJT and fix this entry:

O3 - Toolbar: hp toolkit - {B2847E28-5D7D-4DEB-8B67-05D28BCF79F5} - C:\HP\EXPLOREBAR\HPTOOLKT.DLL <--- This seems to be bad so get rid of it.

Then find and delete this file:

C:\WINDOWS\system32\oqdnor.exe
