Hi to all
the title is the problem,when I boot, the computer will boot xp up to the lovely bluish screen welcome and when it switches to the expected screen when the task bar should appears i get that little popup: in order to proceed the only way is to use the old 3 finger salute and start a new process eg: explorer.
my first impression was that I had been sort of Hijacked and tried the remove Home Search Assistant ( the reason is that I found in the registry an entry called search assistant ) to no avail.
I have run spybot, adaware,avastantivirus,spyware doctor , all to no joy.
the only bit I found who was mentionned was the Network Security Service.
please find my HJT log and please set me in the right direction ( By the way I tried burning some white feather with incantations and libations, aside of the smell of burned feather I got drunk and the problem is still there)

Hi to all
just a note to announce that I solved my problem,still don't know what caused it:
on start up when the blue screen appeared and the little popup is I just called the manager and highlighted the "error running", right clicked and looked for the process. it was "userinit.exe" found the sod and deleted it, instantly Xp told me that a file necessary for the welfare of the system was missing and neede to be reinstalled, would I be kind enough to put the cd in, and presto I had a new userinit.exe, after reboot my problem was gone. what did modify my original file is a mystery, but I'm ok now, hope it helps someone,
