Newbie trying to do the log file !!

:scratch: I've done all the steps required before actually downloading the hijack this and creating a log file. For some reason every single time I go to run the log file through hijack this (yes I unzipped it and put it in another folder) the scan begins and the log is started but then Internet explorer freaks outs and comes up with a message that hijack this is having a problem and do I want to send a message about it to Internet Explorer. Can anyone help me with this problem? I've even tried re-downloading it into a new folder and turning the computer on and off and trying the scan again....same result. Help! Thanks :D

P.S. All this started (my needing a log file) because norton tells me I have the comdlg32.exe virus. :(

    BTW Yes I ran both the Ad Aware and the Search and Destroy first. BOth said they could not delte everything ie. Ad Aware could not delete these:
    c:\programfiles\commonfiles\wintools\wsup.exe and wtoolsa.exe and wtoolsb.exe (a b c d p s t) also c:\programfiles\toolbar\common.dll and pib.exe and tbps.exe and toolbar.dll

    Please help!!!!
