Trouble with Xlime and other such adware

Hi, my laptop has been running smoothly for 3 months now. All of a sudden, (i think in the last 2 or 3 days), i recognized that when i opened internet explorer and browsed the web, Xlime + other ads poped up (first time for me)! I was shocked that an ad had popped up. I have run Adaware (most updated version with all updates) and Spybot Search and Destroy (newest version with all updates). This tackled a portion of the problem. However, I still have Xlime ads popping up like crazy all over. I have read all the rules about the forum and have downloaded and run HJT (in its separate folder etc.). Can you please help me combat this new and viscious attack of popups (and tell me if I have any other problems)? Thank you Very VERY much. (Clearly i can't help being verbose). P.S. Norton Antivirus (04 version + updated) has found 1 file that it cannot delete. I forget the name of the file, but it was ranked as a High Risk. Norton did nothing else to fix it and forced me to 'skip' it. I can run Norton again (it takes 20 minutes to scan!) and find the filename if you want me to. (i think it was something like polall1b.exe or something..not sure). Can you Please Help me?

Sorry for not making it clear in the original message but:
Spybot only finds DSO Exploit entries (5 of them apparently) which reading the forums here are safe.
AdAware (after running it 11 times) only finds "negligible objects" and sometimes tracking cookies that it easily removes.
Thank you for spending your time helping me in advance.
