File Delete Problem

edited January 2005 in Science & Tech
I need to delete some files and I'm getting access denied. I've tried several DOS commands and they aren't working. The files are the last part of the virus that infected my PC. I can copy the files to a different folder, but cannot rename them (tried that to see if I could delete them, didn't work)
Any suggestions? Appreciate any help given

Go into Safe Mode (Hold onto F8 at the BIOS screen) and the infected files should be allowed to delete

Could you boot from an emergency cd or bootable floppy and then delete it?

    Try Absolute File Shredder.

If that does not work, try the various suggestions in this similar thread.
