Hello there,
I recently booted up my PC only to find that my BIOS ran and then a black screen. I checked it by placing my Windows 5 in 1 disc in and when I went to set up a new O/S it said that I didn't have any harddrives hooked up.
The wierd part is that I took a nap and when I came back I turned on PC to get to working on it and it started up like normal. What caused this and will I have to look out for it again. It is going to drive me crazy if I can't get on my PC when I want.
Any help would be great.
Peace,
Alex

If you literally just got a black screen after post, then you may want to run a memory test. I wouldn't think its your memory if this really only happened once though, and there is no consistency.
I at a time had a faulty ahrd drive that would cause me to BSOD in windows, and I had to cold boot my computer to get back into windows off of it. It would not go past post either, but only after it would bsod and I restarted. A cold boot always fixed it. .. I don't know where I'm going with this ...
I'd say report any other strange activity in this thread, and if nothingelse happens similair to that in the enxt week we can theoreticaly throw it out as a fluke.
